DOZENS of Unison members rallied in Glasgow today, as they fought to save vital jobs and the city’s vital health and care services. 

The rally came ahead of a crucial vote at the ruling Integrated Joint Board (IJB), of Glasgow’s Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), which trade unionists fear could cost up to 67 full-time equivalent jobs, ranging from admin, to front-line social care workers, in areas from addictions to support for adults with complex needs.

Addressing the rally, Unison’s Margaret McCarthy warned comrades the cuts would “increase poverty, increase inequality, and ill-health.”
