Catering staff at Avanti West Coast walk out for 48 hours
An Avanti West Coast train sat London's Euston Station

CATERING workers employed by rail profiteer Avanti West Coast walked out for 48 hours today against rosters they say are “causing widespread stress and fatigue.”

Rail union RMT said Avanti had imposed rosters leaving workers facing “short notice changes to shifts, job cuts and enforced overtime” which it said affected plans such as family commitments and medical appointments.

The union blamed the company’s “chaotic management” for the problems.
