BOXING: Two-time Olympic gold-medallist Claressa Shields stopped Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse in two rounds to become a four-weight world champion in Detroit today. Shields is now unbeaten in 15 fights.

Forty-year-old Derek Chisora beat Joe Joyce by a unanimous points decision in Saturday night’s non-title heavyweight bout in London, where Dennis McCann outpointed Ionut Baluta to win the European super-bantamweight belt.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Duhan van der Merwe overtook Stuart Hogg as Scotland’s leading try-scorer when he touched down for the 28th time in just 41 games as the Scots carved out a scrappy 31-19 win in Uruguay.
