Remco Evenepoel, of Belgium, shows his gold medals of the men's time trial and road cycling events, at the 2024 Summer Olympics, August 3, 2024, in Paris, France

MEN’S CYCLING: Belgium’s Remco Evenpoel became the first cyclist to win both road race and time trial golds at the same Olympics after cruising to victory in Saturday’s road race.

Despite suffering a puncture and bike change 2.5 miles from the finish, Evenepoel still finished a minute and 10 seconds ahead of France’s Valentin Madouas and Christophe LaPorte.

Tom Pidcock was the highest-placed British rider in 13th place.
