BRAZIL: A majority of Brazil’s Supreme Court today voted for far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro to stand trial for his alleged role in conspiring to overthrow the country’s government after he lost the 2022 election to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

HAITI: A Kenyan policeman deployed on the island has gone missing after violent gangs attacked a group of officers on a rescue mission, a UN-backed multinational military force said today.

The Kenyan officers were on their way on Tuesday to rescue Haitian police stuck in a ditch “suspected to have been deliberately dug by gangs,” according to the mission’s statement, adding that “specialised teams have been deployed” to search for the missing officer.
