Thirteen men who abused police during far-right riots jailed

THIRTEEN men who abused police during the far-right riots following the Southport mass stabbing have been jailed.

Roger Haywood, 41, repeatedly verbally abused police officers and assaulted security staff before assaulting an officer as they attempted to restrain him in Blackpool on August 3.

He was jailed for 30 months after admitting violent disorder and assault.
