MEN’S FOOTBALL: Argentina celebrated their qualification for the 2026 World Cup finals with a 4-1 thumping of Brazil in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

Brazil currently sit fourth in the South American group behind Uruguay and Ecuador, who drew 0-0 with bottom team Chile.

The group’s other fixtures saw Venezuela boost their qualifying hopes after Salomon Rondon scored in their 1-0 win over Peru and Colombia drew 2-2 with Paraguay.
