HUMAN rights organisation Liberty warned today that there were “significant shortcomings” in the Assisted Dying Bill.

It said the legislation set to be debated in Parliament next week has a “principles first, details later” approach which could lead to significant risks to marginalised and vulnerable groups.

Liberty director Akiko Hart said while the organisation supports assisted dying in principle, the Bill is “just not robust enough,” urging MPs to oppose it if they “find it wanting.”
