Four die in violent anti-India protests

INDIA: Four people were killed yesterday near the Jammu and Kashmir state capital Srinagar as hundreds of people clashed with troops during anti-India protests.

Troops fired live rounds and used pellet guns against stone-throwing and slogan-chanting crowds in Aripanthan village, west of the city.

At least 15 others were injured, three of whom are in a critical condition, police said.
