UNITE became the latest union today to affiliate to Strike Map, an online tool that has mapped 230,000 walkouts since its founding in 2020.

It joins a growing list of supporters which includes the Public and Commercial Services Union, National Education Union, British Medical Association and Fire Brigades Union.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “There is power in a union and Strike Map is building solidarity across the trade union movement. 

“Their support in Birmingham, where the council are attempting to impose swinging pay cuts, has been hugely valuable in planning megapickets, other events and building support for our workers across the city.

“Tracking strikes and industrial disputes across the country is showing the power of workers to fight for better jobs, better pay and better conditions in their workplace.”

Strike Map co-founder Henry Fowler said: “Unite continues to be a union that is engaged in many disputes and we look forward to continuing our support for all Unite members taking strike action.”
