Former Irish captain added to British and Irish Lions coaching staff

Johnny Sexton appointed as an assistant coach

FORMER Ireland captain Johnny Sexton has been appointed as an assistant coach to Andy Farrell for this summer’s British and Irish Lions tour.

The 39-year-old will take up a full-time coaching position with the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) on his return from the series in Australia.

Sexton won six Test caps for the Lions across the victorious 2013 tour against the Wallabies and the 2017 series draw in New Zealand.
