AT LEAST eight people are confirmed to have died at a music festival in the United States after fans surged towards the stage.

The incident took place last Friday during a performance at Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas, by rapper Travis Scott.

Authorities had not released the names of the dead as the Morning Star went to print, but the victims are aged between 14 and 27 years old, according to Houston officials.
