STRIKING tram workers in the West Midlands were celebrating victory today after most won inflation-busting pay boosts.
The 170 employees, who first walked out in mid-October, were due to launch all-out industrial action across West Midlands Metro services at the end of this month, but it has now been called off.
Under the wage deal negotiated by their union Unite, tram crews with at least 12 months’ service will see their salaries jump by a whopping 20.1 per cent by April 2023, with most of the increase backdated to June this year.
