ON Tuesday April 25 Colombian President Gustavo Petro hosted world leaders in Bogota for a one-day conference to discuss the political situation in Venezuela.

The summit, called the International Conference on the Political Process in Venezuela, was held at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry and was attended by representatives from 19 countries and the European Union (EU).

The meeting was aimed at reigniting the paralysed dialogue and negotiation process between the government of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the platform of the US-backed far-right opposition sectors.
