SPEEDWAY: Workington Comets racer Celina Liebmann won the inaugural FIM women’s Speedway Gold trophy in Teterow, Germany, on Sunday evening.

Backed by a home crowd, Liebmann won all four of her heats to take the title from Dutch rider Nynke Sjbesma with Australia’s Anika Loftus in third.

The play-off final could not be contested after Sjbesma and Loftus crashed out and were hospitalised in heat 12.
