MEN’S FOOTBALL: The English League Cup quarter finals kick off tomorrow night with Crystal Palace facing Arsenal at Ashburton Grove, holders and ten-time winners Liverpool visiting manager-less Southampton and Newcastle United, who have never won the trophy, up against Brentford. 2023’s champions Manchester United travel to face Tottenham on Thursday. The winners of the competition qualify for the Europa Conference League play-off round.

MEN’S BOXING: Former two-time interim WBC Heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte returned to action nine months after his last fight with a seventh round stoppage of Ghana’s Ebenezer Tetteh in a low-key encounter in Gibraltar that was not sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control. Thirty-six-year-old Whyte improved his record to 31 wins in 34 bouts, his only losses coming against Anthony Joshua, Alexander Povetkin and Tyson Fury.

MEN’S CRICKET: Bangladesh are 1-0 up as they head into the second leg of their three-match Twenty20 series with the West Indies on St Vincent tomorrow. Chasing Bangladesh’s 147-6 in Monday’s game the Windies were soon struggling and limped to 58-6 before captain Rovman Powell’s quick-fire 60 from 35 balls brought them into contention. Powell was eventually out in the last over as the Bangladeshis sealed a seven-run victory.
