TESCO has failed to deal with a formal staff complaint that detailed two years of alleged bullying by a manager, GMB said today.
The collective grievance was submitted by 16 staff at its Yeading store in West London in April.
But the retail giant is yet to fully investigate or issue an outcome, the union said.
GMB regional organiser Trevlyn McLeod said: “It took enormous courage for our members to raise a grievance and Tesco’s silence in return has been shameful.
“This isn’t just a delay — it’s a failure of basic process.
“Tesco’s failure to act on these bullying allegations risks undermining staff confidence that their concerns will be heard and treated seriously.”
GMB has requested a written outcome within five working days, citing both Acas guidance for grievances to be handled "without unreasonable delay" and Tesco’s own grievance policy, which commits to concluding investigations "within a reasonable timeframe."
A Tesco spokesperson said: "We take all allegations extremely seriously, and we work hard to address colleague concerns within a reasonable timeframe."
