MEN’S BOXING: Belfast’s Antony Cacace stopped Leigh Wood in the ninth round to retain his IBO super-featherweight title in Nottingham on Saturday night. 

Cacace improved his record to 24 wins from 25 bouts, while Wood suffered a fourth career defeat. 

On the undercard, Liam Davies earned a unanimous points decision over Kurt Walker to win the vacant IBF intercontinental featherweight belt and light-heavyweight Ezra Taylor outpointed Troy Jones.
