WOMEN’S CRICKET: It’s first against third in the Twenty20 Blast tomorrow, as table-topping Surrey are at Edgbaston to face the Birmingham Bears.

After a DLS method tie in their last match, Surrey have a two-point lead and game in hand over second-placed Nottingham Blaze with the Bears a further three points back.

Tomorrow’s other game sees Hampshire Hawks up against Lancashire Thunder at Newbury’s Falkland cricket club.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Defending champions England need a bonus-point win and other results to go their way when they face Australia tomorrow if they are to reach the Under-20s World Cup semi-finals.

South Africa, who beat England 32-22 last Friday, are already in the last four before their match with Scotland.

Wales are seeking a first win when they meet Spain, while Ireland play New Zealand for a chance to reach the semi-finals.

SPEEDWAY: Emil Sayfutdinov top-scored with 12+1 points as Ipswich Witches squeezed out a 46-44 win at Oxford on Monday evening and returned to the top of the Premiership by one point from Sheffield and Belle Vue.

Jaimon Lidsey scored a perfect 15 points from five rides and Zach Cook weighed in with 13+3 as the Manchester club led from the first tape to thump bottom club Birmingham 60-30 in Monday’s other fixture.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: The battle of Ireland between Dublin’s Shelbourne and Belfast’s Linfield is a highlight of tonight’s Champions League first qualifying-round ties.

Elsewhere, Bulgaria’s Ludogorets Razgrad, who have qualified for the last 14 seasons of European football, face Dinamo Minsk, Zalgiris from Vilnius meet Maltese club Hamrun Spartans and 1986’s European Cup-winners Steaua Bucharest play Andorra’s Inter Club D’Escaldes.
