MEN’S BOXING: Jaron Ennis defended his IBF Welterweight belt when he stopped Lithuania’s Eimantas Stanionis after six rounds in Atlantic City early on Sunday morning.

Ennis improves his unbeaten record to 34 wins, 29 by way of knock-out as Stanionis fell to his first defeat in 16 bouts.

In Cuba, double Olympic gold heavyweight Julio de la Cruz beat Dilan Prasovic in the island’s first professional boxing event since 1961.
