Renee Slegers hails Taylor Hinds for calling out sexually inappropriate comments
Arsenal manager Renee Slegers during the Women's Super League match at the Joie Stadium, Manchester, February 2, 2025

ARSENAL head coach Renee Slegers praised Liverpool defender Taylor Hinds today for calling out sexually inappropriate comments from a supporter during their FA Cup win at Meadow Park on Sunday, and stressed the importance of an inclusive culture around the team.

As reported in the Star today, Jamiaca international Hinds and a team-mate had immediately made the match officials aware of the comments, with the alleged perpetrator removed from the ground by stewards.

Arsenal have launched a club investigation with relevant stakeholders and promised to take strong action against any abuse or discrimination.

Slegers feels everyone has to take a stand against such issues, on or off the pitch.

“I think all we can do now afterwards is look at the event that happened, investigate and try to get it right and make sure to create a culture and an environment around our games where it hopefully doesn’t happen again,” said the Arsenal boss, whose side return to Women’s Super League action away against Everton at Walton Hall Park tomorrow.
