London to host Laver Cup in 2026
EMOTIONAL SCENES: Roger Federer

THE Laver Cup will return to London’s O2 arena in September 2026.

The venue was the sight of emotional scenes three years ago when Roger Federer chose the Ryder Cup-style event he founded to bid farewell to tennis.

It was announced on Wednesday that the O2 will again stage the tournament pitting teams from Europe and the rest of the world against each other from September 25-27.

Federer said: “My final match in 2022 was filled with emotion and unforgettable memories. Being surrounded by my team-mates, who were also my greatest rivals, it was everything I could have hoped for.

“I’m really looking forward to returning to such a meaningful place, this time as a fan, and experiencing the incredible Laver Cup atmosphere once again.”

There will be no Federer, Rafael Nadal or Andy Murray on court next year, but organisers will no doubt hope Britain’s Jack Draper continues his upward trajectory and can be a star of the event.
