SOCIALIST Venezuela has been under serious sustained pressure from the United States to change direction. 

The US has tried every dirty trick, including assassination attempts and armed insurgency. 

The most recent incursion from Colombia near the port of La Guaria resulted in the arrest of 13, including two US mercenaries — perhaps a desperate attempt to get their share of President Donald Trump’s $15 million bounty on the head of the legitimate leader of Venezuela, President Nicholas Maduro.
