Brentford win appeal against Norgaard’s red card at Everton
Brentford's Christian Norgaard reacts after being shown a red card for serious foul play during the Premier League match at Goodison Park, Liverpool, November 23, 2024

BRENTFORD captain Christian Norgaard has had the red card he was shown during Saturday’s goalless draw with Everton overturned following an appeal.

The 30-year-old was dismissed in the 41st minute by referee Chris Kavanagh who was summoned to the VAR monitor to review a challenge on goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Norgaard was deemed to have committed serious foul play when, in attempting to reach a header across goal from Ethan Pinnock, his studs connected with Pickford’s knee.
