Boulter might have feared the worst when her match was moved from its original court six to court 13, where Emma Raducanu, Cameron Norrie and Fran Jones had already lost. The British number three put up a good fight against 28th seed Potapova, who is one of the most in-form players on the WTA Tour.
MEN’S DARTS: Luke Littler admitted Premier League struggles and crowd boos had made him consider walking away before beating rival Luke Humphries in a dramatic London final on Thursday. The 19-year-old shrugged off recent jeers to reclaim the title he lost to Humphries last year. In a third straight final meeting between darts’ top pair, Littler came from 6-3 down to edge an 11-10 thriller.
WOMEN’S CRICKET: England were outplayed by India as they fell to a 38-run defeat in their pre-T20 World Cup meeting in Chelmsford. England, who still await the return of Danni Wyatt-Hodge from maternity leave and Nat Sciver-Brunt from injury, were set a target of 189 to win but managed just 150 for eight with their batting line-up failing to convince. The three-match series continues at Bristol tomorrow.
MEN’S FOOTBALL: Ibrahima Konate will leave Liverpool when his contract expires next month after failing to agree a new deal. The centre-back had suggested an agreement was close following the Merseyside derby win at Everton, but PA understands financial terms could not be resolved. Konate departs Anfield after five years, with a move to Paris St Germain now appearing more likely than long-standing suitors Real Madrid.
