WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Manchester City goalkeeper Khiara Keating has replaced the injured Ellie Roebuck in England’s squad ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Ukraine. The 21-year-old was part of the Lionesses’ Euro 2025-winning squad before making her debut in a 2-1 defeat to Brazil in October. She will provide competition for Hannah Hampton and Anna Moorhouse. Aston Villa keeper Roebuck has withdrawn due to a shoulder issue.

WOMEN’S TENNIS: Fran Jones’s fightback proved in vain as she lost in the second round of the French Open today to 27th seed Marie Bouzkova, 6-0 7-6 (3). After an emotional first-round win over Beatriz Haddad Maia, Jones recovered from losing 10 of the first 11 games but ultimately could not complete the turnaround. The defeat means Katie Boulter, who takes on Anastasia Potapova tomorrow, is the last British singles player remaining.

MEN’S CRICKET: New Zealand are crossing their fingers over the fitness of strike bowler Matt Henry ahead of next week’s first Test against England. Henry, ranked number three in the world, was ruled out of the ongoing Test against Ireland in Belfast due to a minor strain in his left hamstring. He has now headed straight to London alongside fellow quicks Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke, where all three will work towards being ready to line up at Lord’s next Thursday.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Ceri Holland returns for Wales’ World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and the Czech Republic. Olivia Clark, Laura Hughes and Lois Joel are also back in Rhian Wilkinson’s 26-player squad after injury. Wales sit second in Group B1 on goal difference and have secured a 2027 World Cup play-off place ahead of their final fixtures away to Montenegro on June 5 and at home to leaders the Czech Republic four days later.
