STRIKEMAP and the National Education Union (NEU) have called on members of the public to write letters to a firm which has been recruiting scabbing workers during a school strike.
Agency workers have been hired at the Connaught School For Girls in Leytonstone, east London, to replace staff striking over cuts and redundancies.
Job cuts would also affect the school’s NEU representative, who Strikemap said was facing redundancy.
In addition, they serve as the joint branch secretary for neighbouring Waltham Forest NEU.
The strike started last Tuesday and will run until May 8.
A letter-writing campaign has been called to push back against the school hiring temporary workers from the Tradewind recruitment agency.
Members of the public supporting striking education staff are invited to write their message to Tradewind directly through Strikemap’s online portal.
The Connaught School For Girls has been contacted for comment.
