WELSH Greens announced today that it will run a full slate of candidates for the Senedd for the first time.
Wales Green Party Leader Anthony Slaughter said: “I am very proud to be offering every person in Wales an opportunity to vote for a candidate that will make a real difference to their lives.
“Since the election of Zack Polanski, the Green Party has seen rapid growth — with support surging the polls and in our record membership numbers.”
A YouGov poll for ITV Wales has shown the Welsh Greens jousting for third place on 12 per cent with Welsh Labour on 13 per cent.
“With Greens surging in the polls, and the new proportional voting system, we can elect candidates across Wales,” Mr Slaughter said.
Wales is the first nation in Britain to scrap first-past-the-post and the election on May 7 will be the first under a full proportionate representation voting system.
