WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Glasgow City won 2-1 at Celtic to maintain their unbeaten record and move five points clear at the top of the Scottish Women’s Premier League. Second-placed defending champions Hibs eased to a 5-0 win at Motherwell while Katie Wilkinson scored five as Rangers crushed bottom of the table Hamilton 11-0, Hearts cruised past Aberdeen 5-1 and Partick went down 2-0 at home to Montrose.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Nottingham Panthers won both legs of their double-header with Dundee to climb a point clear of Glasgow in the Elite League. The Scottish outfit lost out 2-1 at Coventry after edging a 3-2 shoot-out win in Cardiff. Reigning champions Belfast opened their account with two wins over Fife, who remain without a point, while Mitchell Balmers netted a hat-trick as Sheffield Steelers eased to a 6-1 win in Coventry.

MEN’S CRICKET: The West Indies are 1-0 down before tomorrow’s second leg of their three-match one-day series against Bangladesh in Mirpur. The Bangladeshis stormed to 74 run win in the first game with leg spinner Rishad Hossain taking 6-35 as the Windies collapsed to 133 all out at the same venue. The hosts are currently ranked as the world’s tenth best 50 over team, one place below the West Indies.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Yassir Zabiri scored twice as first-time finalists Morocco beat six-time champions Argentina to win the Under 20s World Cup final in Santiago, Chile yesterday morning. They are the second African team, following Ghana in 2009, to get their hands on the trophy. Morocco’s Othmane Maamma was named as the player of the tournament. Colombia beat France 1-0 to claim the bronze medal.
