Miliband tells Musk to get out of British politics
Energy Secretary Ed Miliband addresses delegates at the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, October 1, 2025

ELON MUSK was told to “get the hell out of our politics” by Ed Miliband as the Energy Secretary addressed the Labour Party conference today.

The sharp challenge to the multibillionaire US technology tycoon marked a break from the government’s policy of avoiding talking about him, despite his endless far-right provocations.

The former Labour leader cast aside those restraints and told delegates: “He incites violence on our streets.

“He calls for the overthrow of our elected government. He is an enabler of disinformation through X.

“He thinks he can tell us how to run Britain. We have a message for Elon Musk — get the hell out of our politics.”

Mr Miliband also told a fringe meeting that he planned to upgrade the present moratorium on fracking to a total ban.

Addressing the conference, he said: “Fracking will not take a penny off bills. It will not create long-term sustainable jobs. It will trash our climate commitments.

“And it is dangerous and deeply harmful to our national environment. Let’s send this bunch of frackers packing.”

Like other ministers, Mr Miliband devoted much of his speech to denouncing Reform and Nigel Farage, in this case for their aggressive climate denial.

“Reform’s war on the future would betray every young person in our country and every young person yet to be born,” the Energy Secretary said.

He reaffirmed the goal of clean energy by 2030 and said it would lead to lower energy bills and “a different kind of economy, run for working people.”
