Boulter overcomes nightmare start to reach second round of Madrid Open

KATIE BOULTER recovered from losing the first four games against Katerina Siniakova to reach the second round of the Madrid Open today.

Boulter prevailed 4-6 6-2 6-1 as Siniakova, ranked 57th in the world and 17 places below the British number one, wilted in their first-ever meeting.

Siniakova made a quickfire double break to lead 4-0 before Boulter fought back to level the opening set.
