West Ham gain valuable point in bid for survival
West Ham United's Andy Carroll (second left) celebrates scoring his side's first goal of the game during the Premier League match at London Stadium

WEST HAM manager David Moyes seemed happier to get a point out of this keenly fought encounter last night than his opposite number Paul Lambert.

“The important thing was not to lose,” Moyes declared, going on to say that “this was one of the best performances we have had here.”

The Hammers boss appears happy to secure the club’s Premier League status a point at a time, setting his target at 40 points, though none present last night will have come away happy, given that a win here could probably have secured that status for another year.
