Postal workers won't fall for stunts, Dave Ward warns Royal Mail
CWU general secretary Dave Ward

POSTAL workers have warned Royal Mail they will not fall for “stunts” as the CWU rejected an offer from company bosses to avert a looming national strike.

The postal service told the CWU that if it removed the threat of strike action for the rest of this year, it would enter talks without any preconditions.

However the union’s general secretary Dave Ward rejected this “stunt,” telling them in an email: “If Royal Mail are serious about avoiding disruption to the postal service they will put an offer on the table that protects our members’ jobs, terms and conditions and the service they provide to the public and businesses.”
