CWU lodges appeal against High Court judgment
CWU general secretary Dave Ward

POSTAL workers’ union the CWU has formally lodged an appeal against a High-Court ruling banning 110,000 postal workers from going on strike.

The union is seeking to overturn last week’s injunction against strike action at Royal Mail, which was granted despite more than 97 per cent of CWU members voting for action on a 75.9 per cent turnout.

The dispute is focused on workers’ concerns over the casualisation of the Royal Mail and the potential undermining of pensions and conditions.
