Council funding shortfall to hit leisure, warns Scottish Labour

LEISURE centres and theatres in Scotland will face closure unless the government bails them out, Scottish Labour warns.

The closures cost Scotland’s council-run swimming pools, sports centres and local theatres £277 million in income in the first six months of 2020, according to the party.

But the SNP plans to pay only £90 million towards the shortfall, Scottish Labour said.
