Rugby union: Finals moved from Marseille over Covid-19 risk

ORGANISERS announced today that this season’s Champions Cup and European Challenge Cup finals will not take place as scheduled in Marseille.

European Professional Club Rugby (ECPR), which oversees both tournaments, said that the French city will instead stage both finals next year. The original 2022 venue, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, will now host in 2023.

European Cup semi-final ties will meanwhile be played at venues of the home clubs, replicating last season’s arrangements.
