Welsh TUC Launches Unity Campaign

TUC CYMRU has launched a new campaign standing up for unity in Wales ahead of Senedd elections in May which may bring the hard-right Reform to power.

The United Cymru campaign is aimed at developing unity in the face of attempts to stir up divisions in Welsh workplaces and communities, as well as online misinformation.

TUC Cymru general secretary Shavanah Taj said: “All of us in Wales want the same things — decent pay, a home we can afford, and a good future for our families. But progress is harder when we’re divided.

“I believe that Wales is at its best when we’re united. Our history shows us what we can achieve when we put our differences aside and work together towards a common goal — paid holidays, safer workplaces, government-funded school meals and keeping care homes open.”

Ms Taj also urged all election candidates to conduct “respectful“ campaigns without pushing divisions.

Supporters can receive posters and stickers and access advice on tackling misinformation.
