Tens of thousands take to the streets of Iran to mark anniversary of 1979 Islamic Revolution

TENS of thousands of Iranians took to the streets today to mark the anniversary of the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Iranian state television aired commemorations at sites across the country.
The annual remembrance of the end of the rule of the United States-backed Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and the creation of Iran’s Shiite theocracy comes this year as deep uncertainty lingers across the country.
