UK must ‘return to European fold,’ says SNP

THE SNP has used the fifth anniversary of Brexit to call on the Labour Westminster government to “return to the European fold.”
Despite campaigning for independence in the 2014 referendum, which, if successful, would have taken Scotland out of the EU in 2016, the SNP has opposed the 2016 EU referendum result being honoured.
The SNP pointed to research conducted for the party by the Commons library that suggests exports to the EU have dropped from £216 billion in 2019 to £187bn and imports from £309bn to £301bn.
