The Samoans will next face Tonga in Brisbane. Saturday’s opening match of the Pacific Bowl tournament saw Wests Tigers full back Jahream Bula grab the headlines with four first half tries as Fiji saw off the Cook Islands 44-24 in Port Moresby. 

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Harry Kane netted his 400th club goal as Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 to claim their seventh successive Bundesliga win. The England captain opened his goalscoring account in 2011 while on loan to Leyton Orient and has managed 104 in 107 appearances since moving to Munich in August 2023. Leipzig are five points behind table-topping Bayern with Stuttgart a point further back in third.

MEN’S CRICKET: Pakistan hold a 1-0 lead as they head into tomorrow’s final match of their two-legged test series against world champions South Africa in Rawalpindi. Left-arm spinner Noman Ali bagged match figures of 10-191 when the South African’s 10-match winning run was ended in last week’s 93 run defeat in Lahore. Pakistan are ranked as the world’s seventh best test team, five places below South Africa.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: Cape Town Stormers maintained their hundred per cent record with a 31-13 win at Zebre and still top the United Rugby Championship on points difference after second-placed Munster beat defending champions Leinster 31-14. Glasgow eased past the Ospreys 42-17, Pretoria Bulls edged to a 28-27 win in Connacht, Cardiff saw off the Dragons 24-17, Edinburgh thumped Treviso 43-0, Ulster won 34-26 in Durban and Johannesburg beat bottom club Scarlets 29-18.
