WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: Hibs still lead the Scottish Premier League by three points after they drew 2-2 with Glasgow City but Rangers moved into second place, ahead of Glasgow City on goal difference, with a narrow 1-0 win over Celtic. 

Hearts romped to a 6-0 win at Motherwell, Montrose won 1-0 at Partick to preserve their chance of avoiding relegation, Spartans beat Queen’s Park 2-0 and Dundee United slumped to a 5-0 defeat against Aberdeen.

MEN’S BASKETBALL: Newcastle will face Leicester in this year’s Super League play-off final after they earned a shock 154-146 aggregate win over regular season champions London in their two-legged semi-final. 

Jaylin Hunter top-scored with 24 points as Leicester came back from a 10-point first leg deficit to beat Sheffield 172-162 in their last-four clash. Leicester finished three places and 18 points ahead of Newcastle in the Super League.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: Second-half goals from Jack Barham, Dan Ellison and Josh Barrett sealed Aldershot’s 3-0 win over Spennymoor Town in Sunday’s FA Trophy final. 

Aldershot received £60,000 for winning the trophy on their first ever appearance at Wembley with the part-timers from Spennymoor collecting £30,000. 

Earlier in the day at Wembley Whitstable Town had come from behind to beat AFC Whyteleafe 2-1 in the FA Vase final.

NETBALL: Super League table-toppers London Pulse beat off the Mavericks 63-53 in their capital city derby to remain two points clear of defending champions Loughborough, who brushed aside Leeds 71-59 for a fifth successive win. 

Bottom-of-the-league Cardiff Dragons earned their first points of the season with a 61-57 victory in Birmingham and Manchester Thunder cruised to a 72-56 success at Nottingham Forest.
