MEN’S BASKETBALL: Britain are still without a win at the EuroBasket tournament when they face Germany this afternoon. While the Brits were going down 59-78 to Sweden on Saturday Dennis Schroder, who plays for NBA team Sacramento Kings, netted 22 points as Germany maintained their hundred per cent record with a 107-88 victory over Lithuania. The Germans are ranked as the world’s third best team, 45 places above Britain.

MEN’S ICE HOCKEY: Elite League champions Belfast Giants slipped to their second Champions Hockey League defeat in three days after Ilves Tampere came from behind to win 7-4 in Ireland on Saturday night. Tampere, runners up in last season’s Finnish Liiga, beat Germany’s Ingolstadt 3-1 in their opening game. The Giants lost 3-2 after overtime to another Finnish team, Kuopio last Thursday and next face a trip to Lausanne on Friday.

HORSE RACING: Three-time champion jockey Ryan Moore will miss the rest of the season, including rides at the Irish Champions Festival and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, after being diagnosed with a fractured right femur. The 41-year-old, who has been struggling with the injury for two months, is the most successful active flat jockey with over 200 international Group and Grade One winners, including five successes at the Breeders’ Cup.
