RMT suspended planned strike action due to take place today and Monday by Rail Gourmet workers on TransPennine Express contracts.

The walk-outs were halted following progress on disciplinary issues, the rail union said.

Members had voted overwhelmingly for industrial action, accusing Rail Gourmet of breaching its own disciplinary procedures and failing to provide formal notifications and outcomes.
