PROTESTERS will defy the ban on Palestine Action on Friday as a ruling is delivered on the fate of almost 3,000 people who took part in the civil disobedience campaign.

A judicial review into the proscription on the Palestine Action group is set to deliver its conclusions on Friday.

It will decide the fate of the 2,787 people arrested on terrorism charges for holding signs reading “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.”

Activists with the Lift The Ban campaign will risk arrest outside the Royal Courts of Justice in central London, as the ruling is read in court at 10am.

Campaign organisers Defend Our Juries said the demonstration would “create yet another dilemma for the police.”

“Will they arrest us as the result of the judicial review is being read out?”

They added that the recent acquittal of the Filton 6 was a “huge blow” to the government bid to paint Palestine Action as a violent group.
