Peace walkers in Wales remember children killed in Gaza

WELSH activists in Rhondda Cynon Taf held a 25-mile walk today for peace, solidarity and remembrance of the 20,000 children killed by Israel in Gaza.

The action by Rhondda Cynon Taf Palestine Solidarity Campaign (RCT PSC) began at 6am along a 25-mile route on the Trevithick Trail and Taff Trail, passing through locations symbolically twinned with cities in Gaza.

Peace walkers were joined by more people at each location, and were expected to arrive in Cardiff at 6pm after the Morning Star went to print.

An act of remembrance at Alexandra Gardens was then planned to take place, with the names of the children hung on trees, before ending at the Temple of Peace at 8pm.

One of the walkers, Angela, said: “I have never needed to walk that far.

“What a privilege and a luxury to do it safely and peacefully with friends, in the knowledge that we have food and water and that my children and loved ones are safe.”
