Next march for Welsh independence will be in Rhyl
People take part in a march calling for Welsh independence in the centre of Cardiff, Wales, October 1, 2022

WELSH independence campaigners announced today that their next major march will be in Rhyl, North Wales, on October 18.

Yes Cymru’s Geraint Thomas said: “Every march for independence is a message to Westminster that Wales will no longer be ignored.

“From Cardiff to Bangor, from Barry to Rhyl, people are uniting to say we deserve better than decades of neglect from Westminster governments of all colours.

“We’re especially proud to bring the March for Independence back to the north for the first time in two years, and we’re calling on people from across the region to join us in Rhyl.”

The organisers said they chose Rhyl because it symbolises both the challenges and the potential of modern Wales, which Yes Cymru claims has endured years of underinvestment.

Yes Cymru said the march will start and finish at Rhyl Events Arena on the promenade, where there will also be live music and speeches.
