Mitchelton-Scott gets behind Yates for Tour de France

ADAM YATES will have the full support of his Mitchelton-Scott team at the Tour de France after the Australian squad named an eight-man line-up today that does not include sprinter Caleb Ewan.

Yates, who finished fourth and won the best young rider classification in the 2016 Tour, will be hoping to make a big impact in the race after watching his twin brother Simon wear the pink jersey for 13 days of the Giro d’Italia last month before a late collapse allowed Chris Froome to take victory.

Former Team Sky rider Mikel Nieve is the only rider from the team’s Giro squad to also line up for the Tour, and he will be charged with helping the 25-year-old Yates in the mountains alongside Damien Howson.
