THE 31st International Rosa Luxemburg Conference will take place on January 10, 2026, at the Wilhelm Studios in Berlin.
The annual event, organised by Junge Welt newspaper, will bring together about 4,000 activists and peace campaigners from across the world, under the title Heading into War – Against Militarisation Madness & Mobilisation through Media.
Junge Welt editor-in-chief Nick Brauns said the conference aims to “shed light on the dangers of militarism and war, both at home and worldwide.
“At the same time, it is particularly about outlining strategies of resistance — from media education against war propaganda, to youth resistance against the reintroduction of conscription, to trade union actions against arms exports.”
Speakers at the conference will include UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories Francesca Albanese, Italian trade unionist Cinzia Della Porta, economist Jorg Goldberg and Robert Saleem Holbrook from the US-based Abolitionist Law Centre.
A speaker from Cuba will outline the position and perspectives of the socialist island in a multilateral world.
A message of greeting to the conference is expected from US political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal.
Jake Romm, a human rights lawyer and representative of the Hind Rajab Foundation in the US, will speak about the struggle against lawlessness in the colonial world order.
