“FREEDOM and justice for all are infinitely more to be desired than pedestals for a few,” said Honore Daumier 200 years ago, a sentiment reflected in today’s battle cry “for the many not the few.”
We can see that Daumier’s spirit is very much alive among Morning Star cartoonists who have, throughout 2025, entertained our readers with a merciless disparaging of those few who use power against the interest of the many.
And what better antidote than laughter. We remain forever indebted to these comrades for their unwavering generosity and solidarity, without which we’d be all visibly poorer.”
