SENEDD members queued up today to entice the First Minister to condemn Labour’s immigration plans and her sidelining in the recent trade deal with the European Union.

Welsh Conservative leader Darren Millar said a majority in Wales had voted to leave, and the trade deal would decimate Welsh fishing.

Both Mr Millar and Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth said the Westminster government had not consulted the FM Eluned Morgan over devolved matters, like fishing.

Eluned Morgan told the Tory leader that he would not “out-Reform Reform.”

The FM said her government had been involved throughout the talks with the EU, but not at the very end.

Pontypridd Labour’s Mick Antoniw invited her to agree that Wales is not an island of strangers and that immigration has been good for the country.

The FM said almost half of the doctors and nurses in the Hywel Dda health board are trained outside Britain.

“When people are whipping up fear, think about the consequences of that action,” she said.
